I was surprised to learn that it is actually possible to get a degree in teaching languages the web 2.0 way. I do wonder if such training really enables people to create didactically structured course materials or rather turns them into designers of attractive looking but not very useful learning environments. In my opinion, the focus of teacher training should still be on teaching. Soon-to-be teachers should be familiar with the various concepts and methods of language learning and should be able to use different tools for teaching – not restrict themselves to the use of web 2.0 resources.
