Kirsti Ala-Mutka
Kirsti Ala-Mutka is a research fellow at the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS), a European Commission Joint Research Centre (DG JRC) based in Seville, Spain. She holds a doctoral degree in Information Technology, specializing in ICT supported computer science education. She has carried out research and developed learning applications with automatic assessment tools and teaching collaboration with open educational materials. Currently, she is working on the challenges for and potential of ICT enabled learning for ageing societies, vision for future ICT enabled lifelong learning and the potential of social computing applications for learning. Current projects include also studying the state of ICT and learning in the recently joined EU member states.
