Timos Almpanis
Associate Professor, Learning Technologies (Southampton Solent University)
Following the successful completion of an MSc in Computer Based Learning/Training at the University of Southampton, Timos worked as a Learning Technologist at the University of Plymouth (2005 – 2006) and since January 2007 has been working at Southampton Solent University.
In both Universities Timos has delivered a series of training sessions to academic staff on online/blended teaching and learning such as:
- online communication and online group collaboration
- online assessment
- blended learning techniques
Since January 2010, Timos has been part of the Post Graduate Certificate in Blended Learning (PG Cert in BL) course team and teaches on the ‘Developing the Online Experience’ unit as an Associate Lecturer. Timos is also currently studying part-time for a PhD in E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning delivered by Lancaster University; his current research interests include curriculum design for blended and distance learning and staff development needs for blended and online course delivery.
