Education and training are central to the Lisbon agenda for growth and jobs and a key element for its follow-up with the 2020 perspective. Creating a well-functioning ‘knowledge triangle’ of education, research and innovation and helping all citizens to be better skilled are crucial for competitiveness, growth and jobs as well as for equity and social inclusion.
